Album Review: Reign In Blood (1986)

For fans of: thrash metal... and song themes you probably won't like

Slayer - Reign In BloodSlayer's 3rd studio album, Reign In Blood is considered by many to be their finest work. Even though there are 10 tracks, the album still comes in at under half an hour. This is whip crack metal that refuses to let you breathe.

The big songs are 'Angel Of Death' and 'Raining Blood'. The remaining 8 songs are all good, although you do find the odd repetition of riffs or rhythm loops.

This may have been a groundbreaking album at its release, but nowadays it has dated somewhat. That anger and passion is still there and that's what Reign In Blood has always been about. For a quick hit of thrash madness, it doesn't get much better than this.

Check out... Necrophobic. One minute forty of pure unadulterated rage.
