Album Review: Come What(ever) May (2006)
For fans of: alternative metal... and proof the shouty bloke from Slipknot is a good singer
Stone Sour is considered something of a side project for Slipknot members Corey Taylor and Jim Root. The description really doesn't do the band justice.
On this, their 2nd full release, Stone Sour prove to be better than many full time bands. Songs like '30/30 150', 'Sillyworld' and 'Zzyxx Road' are amongst the best tracks you could hope to hear. The way the album shifts between modern-slanted metal and softer rock is breathtaking.
If there's one thing that gets my goat it's albums where every song sounds the same. Come What(ever) May is so far in the opposite direction it deserves a big round of applause and a box of chocolates. This is world class rock music and the sooner another album appears the better.
Check out... 'Sillyworld'. It's 'king awesome!
