Album Review: Rescue You (1985)
For fans of: hard rock... and ballads that were birthed by an angel
Rescue You is the first solo album by Joe Lynn Turner.
'Losing You' is a rousing rock track with a pumping chorus, 'Prelude/Endlessly' is to ballads what champagne is to alcoholic beverages and 'Get Tough' is like a hard rocking version of Olivia Newton John's 'Physical' without the sexual connotations. Apart from the excellent 'Soul Searcher', the remainder of the album is a little anonymous but pleasant all the same.
A good if not massively memorable album, Rescue You doesn't have the songs to best demonstrate JLT's amazing voice. There's enough to justify a purchase though, especially if you're a fan of his other work.
Check out... That ballad, 'Prelude/Endlessly'.
