Album Review: All The Way To The Sun (2005)
For fans of: hard rock... and covers of Louis Armstrong songs
Follow up to the stunning My Religion, All The Way To The Sun is a slight change of direction. This is more of a straight ahead hard rock album with considerably less frippery than the previous release. As such it arguably features more accessible music but is less loveable.
The summery 'Driving', the funky light-hearted 'The Letter' and the down tuned 'Black Butterfly' rank amongst the top tracks. The surprisingly heavy title track is a fine listen too.
All The Way To The Sun isn't quite as good as it's predecessor. The fun factor and over the top pomposity is sorely missed. However be in no doubt this is a great album, it just has its own style.
Check out... 'What A Wonderful World'. Quite a good version, but huh?
