TWISTED SISTER - stub review added 15th December 2008
Album Review: A Twisted Christmas (2006)
For fans of: hard rock... and the sound of Santa gone mad
Twisted Sister do one musical style. It doesn't matter whether they are playing a heartfelt ballad or a balls-out metal anthem, it always sounds like Twisted Sister. Unsurprisingly, A Twisted Christmas also sounds like Twisted Sister.
However, this album is not as bad as it sounds. In fact I'd go as far as to say it's bloody good. If you adore rock music and love annoying the relatives at Yule it's just about perfect. This isn't just a bunch of p*ssed musicians recording an album for a laugh (although they may well have been). There's some proper musicianship going on and an excellent production job.
One of the best albums you could hope for at Christmas. I even heard it playing in the background of a Christmas cookery show the other day. Maybe the world is waking up?!
Check out... The video to 'Oh Come All Ye Faithful'. It takes just over a minute and a half to get going but it's worth it.
