Album Review: Raging Silence (1989)
For fans of: hard rock... and covers of Argent songs
1989 album by Uriah Heep, Raging Silence is their 17th studio album. It's the first Uriah Heep album to feature decibel-tastic vocalist Bernie Shaw.
Starting with a cover of the Argent classic 'Hold Your Head Up', Raging Silence is a loud and proud slab of UK heavy rock. The album powers into full-on metal on occasions and is all the better for it.
'Voice On My TV' beat Phil Collins' 'Jesus He Knows Me' to the anti-evangelist song crown by a full 3 years. 'Blood Red Roses' sounds like Bruce Springsteen on heavy metal pills.
Raging Silence is solid album with little to excite and nothing to annoy. It's highly likeable all the same.
Check out... 'Blood Red Roses'. A big, big song.
