Album Review: From The Moon To The Sun (2008)

For fans of: chill out rock... and music that creates debate

Kip Winger - From The Moon To The SunWell, this album is certainly something. Anyone who knows the hard pop-rock sound of Winger will be instantly confused by From The Moon To The Sun. Kip Winger has taken chill out music, tribal rhythms, classical instrumentation, film scores and all sorts of other inspiration for this record. The result isn't rock, but it also isn't entirely bad.

The recognizable voice is there, but the sound is much softer than normal. Imagine Pink Floyd, Paul Simon and The Beatles in their psychedelic phase jamming with Star Wars' composer John Williams.

From The Moon To The Sun is not really a rock album, but it's hard not to find a soft spot for it. This is ideal music to play in the background during moments of contemplation, or as the gathered throng depart from a funeral.

Check out... 'Nothing'. Not a bad song, and it actually rocks in places.
