Album Review: Triumph And Agony (1992)

For fans of: heavy metal... and female singers who've swallowed a megaphone

Warlock - Triumph And AgonyLet's get this out the way now. German born Doro Pesch, lead singer of Warlock, is loud. Her voice sounds like it could have knocked down the Berlin Wall by itself.

Triumph And Agony is a hit and miss album. There are great songs like 'All We Are', 'Kiss Of Death' and 'Metal Tango', but some tracks are pretty anonymous. The music is rough and ready with an aggressive battle metal sound in places. It's quite unlike the usual female-fronted rock sound, which is something that should be commended.

Triumph and Agony is a solid album with enough on it to recommend a purchase.

Check out... 'All We Are'. A ridiculously catchy track.
