Album Review: Slide It In (1984)
For fans of: blues rock... and singers with a one track mind
Whitesnake's 7th studio album, Slide It In cunningly builds a bridge between the band's earlier blues and their later hard rock sounds.
This album is about one thing. It's about looking for it, wanting it, getting it, not getting it, getting it some more, other people getting it and what happens after you've got it. The lyrics are as subtle as a 12-foot inflatable willy and are all the more glorious for that very reason. If David Coverdale sang about sex any more on this album it would have to come in a tissue...so to speak.
Excellent album with a lot of heart and some very full pants. Depending on your perspective this is cock rock for the masses or blues rock with knobs on. Either way, it's brilliant.
Check out... The occasionally double, mostly single entendres all the way through the album.
