Album Review: Slip Of The Tongue (1989)

For fans of: hard rock... and the world's least subtle suggestive song titles

Whitesnake - Slip Of The Tongue Follow-up to Whitesnake's epic 1987, Slip Of The Tongue returns to the land of provocative titles like Slide It In, Ready An' Willing and Come an' Get It. Rumours that 1987 was to be titled 'Legs Akimbo' turned out to be unfounded.

Slip Of The Tongue has a less moody, more pop and blues driven sound than 1987. Again there's a new version of an older song, 'Fool For Your Loving', the big ballads 'Now You're Gone', 'The Deeper The Love' and a big rocker, 'Judgment Day'.

The overall feel is of a fun album that isn't quite as polished as its older relative. Slip Of The Tongue is however a brilliant listen and again doesn't feature a bad track.

Check out... The slow brooding build-up of the Zeppelin-esque 'Sailing Ships'. Brilliant.
