ROBIN ZANDER - stub review added 24th December 2008
Album Review: Robin Zander (Self Titled) (1993)
For fans of: classic rock... and the beatles, possibly
Best known as the lead singer of Cheap Trick, Robin Zander takes a break from the day job to release a solo album.
There's plenty of Beatle's influenced soft rock, a few stabs at soul-style chill out and even a touch of Grace Jones nuttiness. The slow ballad 'Time Will Let You Know' is the best track, although a few other songs have their merits. Main problem is it's all been done before and it's all been done much better by other artists.
Robin Zander's self titled album won't have you pulling your hair out in horror, but it might see you shoving things in your ears to block out the noise. He's much better in Cheap Trick.
Check out... The awful version of 'Show Me Heaven'. No Need.
