THE ROCK REALMS AWARDS 2009 - ALBUM OF THE YEAR

This list was surprisingly easy considering how hard some of the other lists were. No real doubt about the top places; they were a fair step ahead of the competition. I hope it's this easy next year!

Runners-Up are in no particular order.

WINNER: Coldspell - 'Infinite Stargaze'

The king, the daddy, the don...
2ND: Fair Warning - 'Aura'

Nearly the king. Only stopped by those pesky Swedes.
3RD: Saint Deamon - 'Pandeamonium'

Bronze place is nothing to be ashamed of in this company.
4TH: Danger Danger - 'Revolve'

This is how a band should get back with its original singer; pure brilliance.
5TH: The Wildhearts - 'Chutzpah!'

Used to hate them. Now love them. All thanks to this release.
6TH: Primal Fear - '16.6 (Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead)'

Got as close as you can get to hitting the top 5.
7TH: Winger - 'Karma'

Comfortable top-ten finish for this masterpiece.
8TH: Saga - 'The Human Condition'

New singer, excellent album. Good stuff :)
9TH: W.E.T. - 'Wet'

A slightly silly name, but a jolly good album...
10TH: Place Vendome - 'Streets Of Fire'

This makes 2 out of 2 excellent releases for this band. Respect.
RUNNER-UP: Mastedon - '3'

A mixture of brilliance and excellence always goes down well.
RUNNER-UP: Places Of Power - 'Now Is The Hour'

Came out way back in January, but not forgotten...
RUNNER-UP: Bai Bang - 'Are You Ready'

I wasn't ready actually. I certainly wasn't expecting this album to be so good.
RUNNER-UP: Blackwood Creek - 'Blackwood Creek'

Not bad for a band that hasn't existed for 25 years. Not bad at all...
RUNNER-UP: The Fire - 'Abracadabra'

I'm not sure I was even supposed to get the promo for this. I'm glad I did though!
RUNNER-UP: Jeff Scott Soto - 'Beautiful Mess'

Yes, it is beautiful, but it certainly isn't messy. Well, his hair is, but we'll let him off :)
RUNNER-UP: Herman Frank - 'Loyal To None'

Worship at his feet. Herman's album is a beast.
RUNNER-UP: Johnny Lima - 'Livin` Out Loud'

Yep, loud is right...
RUNNER-UP: Reece - 'Universal Language'

Love this guy's voice. Love this album.
RUNNER-UP: Free Spirit - 'Pale Sister Of Light'

One of the first high scoring reviews on Rock Realms, and we still love it!
