There may be more beautiful, heart-rending songs on this site but these entries all retain that necessary degree of rock. The songs are listed in no particular order... just in case you were wondering....

Loverboy
The One That Got Away (2007)
An absolute belter of a come-back album, with songs like this it's no wonder Just Getting Started was lauded when it was released.
Mr. Big
To Be With You (1991)
Mr. Big's biggest ever song is also one of the biggest ever ballads. Phenomenal.
Bon Jovi
Bed Of Roses (1992)
A very intelligent, grown-up ballad. Surprising really considering how childish we like to be at Rock Realms.
Queensrÿche
Silent Lucidity (1990)
Subtle, stripped back and sublime to start with, then sweeping, orchestral and mythologically massive, songs don't really get a lot better than this.
Whitesnake
Is This Love (1987)
One of THE defining rock ballads of all time. Features that Coverdale bloke at his loving finest.
Sunstorm
Heart Over Mind (2006)
Few singers can belt out a ballad with more panache than Joe Lynn Turner, and here he is disguised as Sunstorm.
Giant
Can't Let Go (2001)
Yes, we know, it's Giant again. It's not our fault. They're just too damn good!
Pride Of Lions
Faithful Heart (2007)
No list of love songs would be complete without Jim Peterik, and here he is with Toby Hitchcock doing what they do best - sounding amazing.
Seventh Key
It Should Have Been You (2004)
A band with two brilliant albums under their collective belts, Seventh Key managed to produce one of the best sad songs ever with this number.
Loverboy
This Could Be The Night (1985)
Utterly compelling song from the mid 80's that's so good you might actually cry. Oh, just us then? Ah...
Journey
Loved By You (2001)
Just as good as 'Open Arms', but utterly different.
Coverdale Page
Take Me For A Little While (1993)
It was a clash of the titans, but it worked perfectly. How good is this song?!
Bad English
When I See You Smile (1989)
Bad English, basically Journey with a different singer, produced a scorcher with this song.
Aerosmith
I Don't Want To Miss A Thing (1998)
Massive song from a very silly film.
Gary Moore
Empty Rooms (1985)
Not the cheeriest song ever, but simply breathtaking nonetheless.
Just missing the cut, honourable mentions in no particular order go to The Flame by Cheap Trick, Eyes Wide Open by Mickey Thomas, Interrupted Melody by Pride Of Lions, Heaven by Warrant, Heaven In Your Eyes by Loverboy, If It's Not Love by From The Inside and As Is by Jimi Jamison.
