> BLOOD FROM O.S.I.

With Blood, O.S.I. have succeeded in creating a fascinating album at the crossroads between rock and progressive metal. Following its impressive predecessors, Office Of Strategic Influence (2003) and Free (2006), Blood is the third release by Kevin Moore and Jim Matheos. O.S.I. unites two exceptional composers who share their penchant for the unusual and are on the same artistic wavelength. “We have different musical tastes but an unspoken musical understanding" Moore enthuses.
The creative process which produced Blood lasted more than a year. In their now familiar long distance collaboration Matheos sent his ideas via email to Moore, who honed them to his own taste before mailing the results back to Matheos. At the end of the day, some pieces were sent back and forth countless times, while others, such as the pulsating metal track Be The Hero, required very little exchange. “When Jim sent me his tracks I had a vocal idea right away. I think it all came together in a couple of days. I love when Jim sends really heavy ideas, and he doesn’t mind me chopping them up. It was fun to play around with the times signatures by editing, and adding a lot of Minimoog effects and unison lines.”
Along with Moore and Matheos, Blood features Porcupine Tree drummer Gavin Harrison. There’s also a guest appearance by Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth) on Stockholm, which the Swedish musician composed together with the two O.S.I. masterminds. “I think it was Kevin’s idea to have a guest vocalist. He asked me if I had any suggestions and I immediately thought of Mikael,” Matheos explains. “It was Mikael’s choice, we gave him several songs to pick from. Mikael wrote the lyrics and melody and recorded his parts at home in Sweden.”
Moore and Matheos took care of the album’s production themselves, while the mix was done with Grammy winner Phil Magnotti.
Blood by O.S.I. is out on the 27TH of APRIL 2009 on Inside Out/SPV

> EDEN’S CURSE & THE NEW BLACK ON CELLULOID

Congratulations firstly go to Eden’s Curse as the first artist to win the first-ever ‘Ultimate Band Contest’ and take their place in the new Damien Dante horror film “Jezebeth”, which will now feature the track “Angels & Demons”, famously, of course, featuring the hugely respected Pamela Moore in duet with singer Michael Eden.
Satania 6 Films in association with Dark Star Records launched the UBC. several months ago, backed by Sonicbids, but as soon as Executive Producer and Music Supervisor of “Jezebeth”, Jeffrey A. Swanson, heard the track he knew it was the one…. “As soon as I heard the song “Angels & Demons”, I knew this song should be in this film”, commented Swanson. “The duet between singer Eden and Pamela Moore really made the hairs stand up.”
Eden's Curse are currently nearing completion of the promotional video for "Angels & Demons" - edited by Director Bernhard Kellerer (Transistor Pictures (UK)) whose previous work includes DVD's for Bonfire and TNT amongst others - and this is expected late March prior to the band’s recently announced run of live shows in the UK with Stratovarius and Firewind in May.

Also, we have the first news on the new The New Black video “Ballad Of Broken Angels” which was written for the US road movie of the same name and had its debut on Last.fm just last week….
You can have a gander at it here:
http://www.lastfm.de/music/The+New+Black/+videos/24929355
You can also check out the band’s Last.fm profile there and listen to all the songs (including the bonus tracks) that came on the debut album “The New Black” released in January.
Say TNB of the project – “We really love this song, because it features the heavy stuff and a little blues/southern rock vibe too. The clip was directed and edited by our own vocalist (and bowler hat wearer extraordinaire), Fludid, but what you see are actual scenes from the movie so basically, we do all our own stunts, LOL!”
“The "Ballad Of Broken Angels" (or "Boba", as we affectionately call it) is a feature film developed in conjunction with the Ford Film Company based on Screenwriter/Producer Gary M. Lumpp's screenplay, that portrays the lives of two women - one a thief, the other out for revenge - who are forced to work together when they cross paths with a vicious drug dealer in the search for the Key To Happiness. Masiela Lusha, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Mick Foley, and Suzi Lorraine are down to star and if you imagine a cross between "Thelma & Louise" and "Kill Bill", we reckon you got it. Our song was directly inspired by the film and it’s a wonderful honour for all the guys in the band to be asked to participate."
