> INTRODUCING 'NO SLEEP TILL SALTBURN'
The long awaited first book from broadcaster and writer Mark Gregory, No sleep Till Saltburn, is OUT NOW exclusively at http://www.lulu.com/.
Charting the author’s chaotic forays into fanzine production, concert promotion, local rock radio, band management, and music journalism, No sleep Till Saltburn is a hugely affectionate look at the great North East UK - New Wave Of British Heavy Metal during the early 1980’s.
The book features such luminary North East outfits as Black Rose, Battleaxe, Satan, and Raven, as well as Brit-Metal Kings Saxon and Def Leppard amongst others.
About The Author:
Mark Gregory is a particularly incompetent drummer who married the daughter of an exceptionally first-rate, professional drummer. Despite an incalculable number of less than heroic efforts on his part to achieve an outcome to the contrary, he managed to sustain a career in the radio broadcasting industry for over 25 years.
He is an International Award Winning commercial copywriter and producer, former creative director and broadcaster, and has worked at commercial radio stations around the UK since 1983. Most recently, he produced and presented 363 consecutive editions of the ‘Morning Glory’ breakfast show for Rock Radio in his native North East. Don’t ever ask him why he never got to the magical 365 though!
He lives in Northumberland with his wife and daughter, where he now works as a freelance commercial voiceover artist. A precarious occupation which, in a nutshell, involves spending most of his time in a home recording studio situated in a wardrobe in the spare bedroom! The more attentive among you may spot his voice recommending the disparate delights of; ‘Abbey Lane Chip Shop – Penrith’, ‘Haverton Hill Car Boot Sale’, and ‘Dulux Paint’, amongst others.
No Sleep Till Saltburn is his first book.
