> ANATHEMA AND SEROTONAL DO THE 'DARK STAGE'
Anathema have been at the forefront of the UK rock/metal movement for many years. They began their journey as pioneers of melodic heavy music, influencing a myriad of bands to follow them, before outgrowing all genres and limitations as they fearlessly explored new territory and new ways to express feeling through sound. Countless world tours have built up a very loyal international fan base and the Natural Disaster Tour saw them playing hundreds of shows in over 30 countries, including going down a storm in the UK as the special guests of HIM, playing to over 30,000 people in little over a week.
Anathema are a unique, imaginative jewel in the crown of independent British music and make a perfect addition to one of the greatest collections of atmospheric and dark bands ever assembled on a UK stage.
Formed in 2004, Serotonal herald the return of one of the most recognisable voices of the genre - the legend that is Darren White, the original singer with Anathema. The band have spent the intervening years honing their sound on a quest for a dark soundtrack to the grim reality of 21st Century life. Boasting many outstanding festival performances across Europe and at Bloodstock 2008 in the UK their appearance on the ‘Dark Stage’ at Hellfire offers a unique platform to showcase their new material.
The much anticipated debut album Monumental - Songs Of Misery And Hope is a collection of the most heart-wrenching and evocative Metal you will ever hear. Infectious grooves and crushing riffs make for an onslaught that will appeal to fans across the many sub-genres of Metal.
Hellfire II will take place at the NEC Birmingham from 6-8 November. Tickets for Hellfire II are on sale NOW! Check out http://www.hellfirefestival.com/?page=tickets for more details.
> THE GLITTERATI SIGN WITH DR2
Global Music are pleased to welcome Leeds-rockers, The Glitterati, to DR2 Records.
The Glitterati first burst onto the scene back in 2003 when they released their debut single ‘Do You Love Yourself?’, which roused a huge amount of interest from the British music press, including a nomination for Best British Newcomer at the Kerrang! Awards.
Their 2005 self-titled debut, produced by Mike Clink (Guns’N’Roses, Metallica), received rave reviews and secured the band a loyal fan-base with energetic live performances supporting acts such as Kings Of Leon, The Killers, Jet, Evanescence, David Lee Roth, The Wildhearts, The Datsuns and Simple Plan.
The Glitterati commented on their latest move to DR2: "After meeting the team at Global Music, DR2 we knew it was the right label for us. Their work ethic, passion and commitment to their artist roster is second to none and we are very excited to be working with them."
Armed with a wealth of new material, The Glitterati are a band full of swagger, attitude and more importantly, full of great songs! News on their second album coming soon…
