> ALAN PARSONS: EYE 2 EYE - LIVE IN MADRID
Legendary studio wizard Alan Parsons returns with a live concert recording - Eye 2 Eye - Live In Madrid - to be released March 19 in Europe and April 6 in the USA on Frontiers Records. Eye 2 Eye - Live In Madrid will come out in two separate configurations in CD and DVD format.
Eye 2 Eye - Live In Madrid was filmed and recorded at the May 14, 2004 show in Playa Mayor - Madrid, Spain. The location is a gorgeous plaza surrounded by historic buildings and is a legacy to a very fine performance from an outstanding group of musicians.
Alan Parsons' career started aged 19 when he worked on The Beatles last two albums, Let It Be and Abbey Road, an album recorded in the legendary London studios of the same name. He soon become a well respected studio engineer and producer, working for Paul McCartney, John Miles, The Hollies, Al Stewart and Pink Floyd among others. He is particularly renowned for his work on the Pink Floyd masterpiece Dark Side of The Moon. This classic album was recorded in 1972, and Parsons' contribution to the album is legendary.
With The Alan Parsons Project, Alan went on to release 10 acclaimed studio albums but never performed live, even after several US and UK Top 20 hits. The Project ended in 1990 when Eric Woolfson and Alan went their separate ways. Eric devoted his career to the musical theatre, while Parsons felt the need to bring his music to the live concert stage and to continue to record conceptual symphonic rock music.
As well as receiving gold and platinum awards from many nations, Alan Parsons has received 12 Grammy Award nominations for engineering and production. In 2007 he received a nomination for Best Surround Sound Album for A Valid Path.
Eye 2 Eye - Live in Madrid features an outstanding performance and for many fans this is the first opportunity to see Alan Parsons' touring band. The musicians' performances are superb throughout, and this could well be the definitive band line-up that Alan has toured with. An added treat is Alan singing lead vocals on three songs as well as all band members sharing the lead vocal duties.

> THE GLITTERATI - ARE YOU ONE OF US?
Global Music are proud to announce the return of The Glitterati with their second studio album, Are You One Of Us?, due for release April 19th 2010.
Hard-rockers, The Glitterati, first burst onto the scene back in 2003 when they released their debut single ‘Do You Love Yourself?’ which roused a huge amount of interest from the British music press, including a nomination for Best British Newcomer at the Kerrang! Awards.
Their 2005 self-titled debut, released via Atlantic and produced by Mike Clink (Guns’N’Roses, Metallica), received rave reviews and secured the band a loyal fan-base with energetic live performances supporting acts such as Kings Of Leon, The Killers, Jet, Evanescence, David Lee Roth, The Wildhearts, The Datsuns and Simple Plan. The Glitterati also graced the stages of UK Summer Festivals, T in the Park and Download in 2004 and 2005.
In 2009, they began the process of recording their second album, Are You One Of Us?, with producer Matt Hyde (Gallows, Acroama, Trivium, Slipknot) and signed with Global Music's DR2 Records.
The band commented: “We went into this album wanting to make a harder, more aggressive sounding record, whilst retaining the hooks and melodies that have always been an important part of The Glitterati sound. It’s been a long time since our first record, we have been through so much just to get to this point; we cant wait for people to hear the new songs and to start making up for lost time.”
The first single ‘Fight Fight Fight’ was released from November 23rd 2009 as a free download and served as an attractive teaser to the UK press and public of the album to come.
The track is now available to buy from iTunes
2010 will see the The Glitterati back in power, full of swagger and more importantly, full of great songs!

> OTHER DOWNLOAD HEADLINERS CONFIRMED
The download organisers have confirmed that legendary multi-million selling Aerosmith and double Grammy-winning Rage Against The Machine will join AC/DC as headliners of the 8th Download Festival.
Celebrating 40 years as America’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band, Aerosmith will return to the main stage at Donington Park for the first time in 16 years. Last playing as headliners of the Donington Monsters Of Rock festival in 1994 and 1990, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry et al return with their legendary juggernaut performance, one that has earned them the title of best-selling American rock band of all time. Aerosmith have sold more than 150 million albums worldwide and 66.5 million in the US alone.
Rage Against The Machine, who in a storm of publicity and heavy campaigning scored the UK Christmas No. 1 single last year, will for the very first time bring their sheer power of political alternative, hip-hop, punk rock to the festival’s main stage. To this day, Rage Against The Machine, who were presented the Hall Of Fame Award by Kerrang! Magazine in 2008, remain one of the most popular and influential political bands in contemporary music.
The excitement doesn’t end there though, as Jared Leto’s phenomenal Thirty Seconds To Mars, Slipknot front man Corey Taylor’s twice Grammy-nominated other band Stone Sour and iconic punk rocker Billy Idol have also been added to the line-up.
Also on the bill are Virginia’s heaviest metallers Lamb Of God, and the incredible Five Finger Death Punch, who were one of the biggest highlights from last year’s festival.
