> STUART CABLE OFFICIAL MEMORIAL CD
It was with heavy hearts that we all first heard the saddening news about the passing of Stuart Cable, founding member of Killing For Company, former drummer of the Stereophonics and tragically missed son, father, brother and band-mate.
To honour the life’s-work of this talented and giving individual, on July 25th Stuart’s current band members from rock group, Killing For Company, will be releasing a single dedicated to his memory.
The proceeds from ‘Former Mining Town’ will be donated towards the charities, Teenage Cancer Trust and Tŷ Hafan, the family hospice for young lives.
In the past Stuart regularly involved himself in charitable events, raising funds throughout the years for Macmillan Cancer, NetAid and other charities. He was part of a billboard campaign for Testicular Cancer Awareness in 2002 and recently completed a 50 mile Welsh Cycle Challenge for PACT – Parents & Abducted Children Together, only a few days before his tragic death.
His Killing For Company band members commented: “To think Stu won’t be joining us on stage anymore is a hard thought to face and although his passing is tragic, we hope to draw some positive from this difficult time. As a band, we are honoured and privileged to have shared the experiences we've had with Stu. We will be releasing the single, ‘Former Mining Town’, and dedicating it to Stuart; he was hugely proud of the album and this track in particular. All funds raised will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust and Tŷ Hafan. Not only have we lost a rock legend but also a best friend and the heart of our band. The stage will not be the same without him.”
‘Former Mining Town’ was written and recorded by Killing For Company in 2009 and will be available for download only from July 25th 2010 via iTunes and all other major online stores. Please join us in this worthy cause and pay tribute to the talented musician that has been lost to us all. Download the single and donate here: http://www.killingforcompany.com/stuart-cable/

> JPT SCARE BAND AUCTIONS RARE RECORDING FOR CHARITY
JPT Scare Band - Auction set for the original test pressing of Acid Blues is the White Man's Burden with all proceeds going to benefit families affected by the Gulf Oil Disaster.
Legendary rockers, JPT Scare Band, have opened ears and turned critics' heads with their dynamic new album, Acid Blues is the White Man's Burden. Hailed by The Obelisk as "one of the most natural and charismatic records this year," JPT Scare Band has put together an album that celebrates the band's history and their present. Now, after the success of their world-wide video premiere, "Not My Fault," and their sarcastic attack of BP's denial of responsibility for the Gulf Coast Disaster, JPT are making the ultimate record collectible available to the public--with all proceeds going to benefit those families affected by the Oil Spill.
Starting Monday, July 12th, JPT Scare Band and Ripple Music will be auctioning off the only available original test pressing of Acid Blues is the White Man's Burden. This is the only copy that will ever be made available to the public, and it is only being done to benefit Gulf Coast Relief.
Follow the link below to take part in the auction for this rarest-of-rare-piece of JPT Scare Band history, help out a worthwhile cause and help the band stick it to BP Oil one more time. And while you're at it, check out the video for "Not My Fault," leave your thoughts, and pass it on to your friends.
With Acid Blues is the White Man's Burden, JPT Scare Band have created a sound equally heavy in hard rocking-blues as it was tripped out in psychedelia. Hailed as one of the "lost pioneers of Heavy Metal” by Classic Rock Magazine, JPT Scare Band has seen a resurgence of interest by fans of 1970’s heavy fuzzed-out rock.
The auction for the rare "Acid Blues" test pressing will last for one week only. Once it's gone, it's gone! Don't miss out on this chance to win this part of rock and roll history.
