> DECREPIT BIRTH'S NEW ALBUM

Oakland's tech-death masters Decrepit Birth have completed work on their new album Polarity to be released on July 27th.

Drums were recorded at Sharkbite Studios (Exodus) with producer Zack Ohren (All Shall Perish, Suffocation, Immolation) while all other tracking was handled by Matt Sotelo before being mixed by Ohren at Castle Ultimate Studios.

Guitarist Matt Sotelo commented: "Polarity is a musical odyssey into the mind and soul, covering many different emotions. This album really fuses together where we are as musicians, by combining melody and brutality on a new level. We are also very proud to be part of the Summer Slaughter Tour for the second time in a row! Get ready to be pummeled by some of the best bands in extreme music!"

Polarity Track Listing: 1. (A Departure of the Sun) Ignite the Tesla Coil, 2. Metatron, 3. Resonance, 4. Polarity, 5. Solar Impulse, 6. Mirroring Dimensions, 7. A Brief Odyssey in Time, 8. > EAST OF THE WALL ALBUM AND TOUR

East Of The Wall are devising their next cross-country live attack for all of July. The New Jersey crew will be touring in support of their upcoming Translation Loss full-length Ressentiment, to see release while the band is on the road.

Ressentiment is a concept record in which the band focus on a slightly different sound, integrating the use of vocals and an increased emphasis on sonic dissonance, and was engineered and co-produced by Will Putney at The Machine Shop (Clutch, King Crimson, Lamb Of God). The final release date and more details will be announced shortly.

On this upcoming tour, East Of The Wall will be joined by Lifeforce Records artists Name for the duration of the month-long excursion, as well as Black Sheep Wall on the west coast leg of the tour. Several dates throughout the tour are still in the booking stage, so the band is reaching out to anybody that can offer a possible show on any of the dates still marked as TBA. Anyone looking to help out can email band@eastofthewall.com.

> DIAMOND HEAD LIVE AT THE BBC

One of the most remarkable talents to rise out of the NWOBHM, Diamond Head’s legacy still ranks among the most influential of the genre, with both Megadeth and Metallica citing the group’s influence on them. Indeed, Diamond Head’s 'Am I Evil?' has been a staple of Metallica’s live shows for many years.

Sounds Magazine’s metal editor Geoff Barton once remarked that “there are more good riffs in your average single Diamond Head song than there are in the first four Black Sabbath albums.” Such lavish praise had been sparked by the band’s unassuming, independently recorded first album (later commonly referred to as the ‘White Album’ or ‘Lightning to the Nations’), which by all rights should have been just the first step on the road to a legendary career.

Diamond Head were formed in Stourbridge, England in 1976 by schoolmates Brian Tatler and Duncan Scott. They quickly recruited Sean Harris and a few months later Colin Kimberley. Having already received euphoric responses to their first album, Diamond Head were quickly signed by MCA and a lengthy tour ensued. They were soon back in the studio to record a second album, Borrowed Time and, by the time they split in 1983, a third, Canterbury had been recorded.

This double CD of BBC recordings combines the band’s In Session and In Concert recordings on one CD for the first time. The set culminates in the Milton Keynes Bowl show, the night they opened for Metallica in 1993 and includes their Reading Festival set from 1982, described by the band as “the peak of their career….as good as it got”. Liner notes are provided by Diamond Head’s very own Brian Tatler.

Diamond Head, Live At The BBC is out on Universal on the 2nd of August

> THE ENID ARE BACK

The Enid (and Robert John Godfrey), were a formidable prog rock band who influenced the likes of Procul Harum from the mid 70’s until 2 sell-out finale shows in 1988 at the Dominion in London.

A long period of hiatus followed but now The Enid are back with an amazing concept album called Journeys End and it is a fantastic record. Seamlessly blending symphony and rock, The Enid are proving that under Robert’s compositions they are still a force to be reckoned with. Robert feels he is now composing some of his life's best work.
