Griffen was formed in 2006 when five guys, with long individual musical backgrounds, felt that they had an urge to play heavy melodic hard rocking metal with inspiration from the 80s. They have made two promos which were both received in the best possible way by both media and audiences.
Griffen was signed to Italian Heart Of Steel Records in 2009. On April 9th, 2010 Griffen released their debut album Life - A Way To Die which contains 12 powerful tracks. The album was recorded in Eskilstuna, mixed by Pelle Saether's Studio Underground, Västerås and mastered by Göran Finnberg, Gothenburg.
The band line up is Kristian Huotari (ex. Torch, SCAAR) on drums, Tomi Peltonen (ex. Torch, Madigan) and Stefan Törnblom (Metalorgy, ex. Madigan) on guitars, Jörgen Söderberg (Metalorgy, ex. 32GO) on vocals, and Harri Tuovila (Vita Vatten, ex. Pink Panther) on bass
