M.A.D.

Album Preview: For Crown And Ring (2009)

For fans of: Heavy Metal

M.A.D. - For Crown And RingM.A.D. (Maniacal Area Damage) is hard rock at its best, goes directly under your skin and makes you shout for more. “Pure entertainment, cool outfits, congenial musicians and a permanent contact with the audience” (Megazin).

They make their concerts an unforgettable experience. “Guitar sounds sharp like a knife edge” (Donaukurier) and rough, hard lead vocals “that bear comparison with the former AC/DC front man Bon Scott” (Donaukurier) give their songs a “clear handwriting” (Donaukurier).

“It can’t be overseen, that M.A.D. is creating an own unmistakable style” wrote the newspaper “Donaukurier” in the bands founding year, 2003.

With this style, a mix of classical Hard Rock and Heavy Metal (you could call it “True Rock’n Roll” or “True Rock”) they would act as support for big names (Saxon, Edguy, Bonfire, Shakra, Paul Gilbert, Eric Sardinas or Ohrenfeindt) as well as be part of big shows (Rock For Asia, Mexico Open Air) or biker parties.

A further part of their successful live performances are their cover versions from AC/DC to Tina Turner that heat up the audience from freezing to boiling...

These guys have also been awarded several first and second prices on talent-contests like the “Aqua Turbo Bandcontest”, and they've had their tracks on CD-compilations such as “Hitpack Fresh Vol.4” and “New Rock Vol.7” of the label “EMG”.

Then, in the beginning of 2007 the guys of M.A.D. released their first album called “Warning!” with a style like a hodgepodge between AC/DC, Dio, Krokus and Rainbow, plus memories of Mötley Crüe and Metallica. The album got very good reviews from the international press and at the “German Rock & Pop-Award 2007” the band was honoured with the first prize for the “Best Hard’n’Heavy-Album” and “Best Hard’n’Heavy-Singer” (signed by Klaus Meine from the “Scorpions”).

Now, their second studio-album “For Crown And Ring" (with the band now signed to the label 7hard), has been released - and the good reviews have been pouring in again.

“...in 2007, comparisons on their debut with AC/DC, Jackyl or Rainbow...on the second disc the guys from Ingolstadt kick harder. Traditional, timeless hard rock...but also Manowar or even Hammerfall. Opener 'Don’t Sell Your Soul' digs itself into your ear canal with its catchy refrain and razor-sharp guitar riffs of grandmaster Robert Mayer...” (translated from the CD-Review from the magazine Breakout)
